The fresh and updated 2017 Ford Edge’s release date is expected to debut sometime mid next year. The vehicle is expected to return with its impressive carlike road manners, tons of standard features for the base model, spacious interior and cargo volume, and plenty of available technology features.
For 2017, rumor has it that the vehicle will certainly be fully redesigned. The vehicle’s history spans back to 2007, where the first batch of midsize crossover Sports Utility Vehicles started gracing our dealerships. They became resoundingly popular due to their versatility brought about by the combination of sedan and wagon features with the height of a SUV.
However, for 2017, the vehicle will undoubtedly face a fierce competition staged by other automakers’ SUVs who have populated the market with their crossover offerings in the recent past. Despite rumors alleging Ford’s Edge will come with plenty of features and technological updates, the vehicle will undoubtedly face an uphill task in trying to reclaim its lost glory.
Despite its expected updates and technologies, the segment offers a few alternatives for those who feel unimpressed by what the Edge offers. Topping that list would be the Jeep Grand Cherokee for 2016, VW Touareg, Nissan Murano for 2015, and Kia Sorento for 2016.
